Case Study: Ingersoll Cutting Tools

Project Description:  75' x 60' Custom Modular Machine Tooling Exhibit

client's comments

"My experience with Nimlok has been most comforting which, as any trade show monkey knows, is the most important feeling a vendor can provide his client. The quality of the project was exactly what I expected. It was completed quickly and delivered precisely when I needed it for setup. We were counting on the Nimlok components to serve as the visuals that set the booth apart from the rest and they did not disappoint. Everyone from the Product Managers to the Executives were well pleased with the results."

design challenge

Ingersoll Cutting wanted a custom trade show exhibit that would visually set them apart from others in their market. At the IMTS Show, their booth space already included four columns and a stairwell that would need to either be designed around or incorporated. The trade show booth needed to achieve a look that worked within the parameters of their parent company's design while also allowing their booth components to be modular and usable at future shows.

design solution

Nimlok was able to provide a solution that maintained the trade show booth design already provided and gave the client the visual impact they were going for. In order to incorporate the four columns into the design large graphics were produced and hung in between each column. This served as a way to disguise the columns as well as display the Ingersoll name high in the booth space and visible from all four sides. The stairwell would be harder to incorporate, so instead large graphics were produced to actually cover it up. The graphics were made approximately 4 feet high and covered the entire staircase. On the opposite side of the custom trade show exhibit a 12' x 19' backlit back wall was created to direct attention to the exhibit and draw people in. This element served as one of the most talked about within the booth space, as it was not only large, but lit up. By using mostly aluminum extrusion and fabric graphics the booth was very lightweight and easy to assemble. This opened the possibility of using many of these components at another show.
